Selank and Semax Stack: Russian Labels, Evidence and Units

What Selank and Semax are, the Russian nasal-drop instructions that hold the only label doses, the trial record, circulating figures, and the units per draw.

This page reports the pairing of Selank with Semax: what each is, where the only label doses come from (two Russian nasal products), what the trial record holds, what the promoting pages claim and state, and how the vials sold for research are reconstituted and drawn. It presents no protocol and ranks nothing. Every figure carries its source and the date it was read.

Semax is a synthetic heptapeptide, Met-Glu-His-Phe-Pro-Gly-Pro, a fragment of the hormone ACTH with a Pro-Gly-Pro tail (C37H51N9O10S, molecular weight 813.9, PubChem CID 9811102, read 2026-09-18). Selank is a seven-residue synthetic peptide, C33H57N11O9, molecular weight 751.9 (CID 11765600). Both were developed in Russia and both are registered medicines there, made by one manufacturer, Peptogen of Moscow: Semax as a nootropic nasal drop and Selank as an anxiolytic nasal drop. What the sources hold

No US label: DailyMed returned zero records for either name on 2026-09-18. No registration administering either: ClinicalTrials.gov returned zero records for Semax and ten for Selank, all ten false matches on unrelated studies (epilepsy drug trials, transcranial stimulation, neurofeedback) that give no peptide.

Two Russian product instructions, which are the only label documents that exist. The rlsnet.ru register entry for Semax 0.1% nasal drops (read 2026-09-18) states 50 mcg of peptide per drop and, for its general indications, no more than 2 to 3 drops per nostril at a time, a single dose of 200 to 2,000 mcg and a daily dose of 500 to 5,000 mcg, given daily for 3 to 5 days and extendable to 14; for optic-nerve disease, 2 to 3 drops per nostril two or three times a day, 600 to 900 mcg a day, for 7 to 10 days; for children with minimal brain dysfunction, 1 to 2 drops per nostril twice a day, 200 to 400 mcg a day, for 30 days. A 1% strength, 500 mcg per drop, is registered for ischaemic stroke. The entry for Selank 0.15% nasal drops states 1.5 mg of peptide per mL in a 3 mL bottle, 2 drops in each nostril three times a day for 14 days, a repeat course after 1 to 3 weeks on medical advice, and over-the-counter sale, with indications of anxiety states, panic attacks, neurasthenia, asthenia, mood instability, sleep disorders, stress-related conditions and adaptation disorders. The Selank entry does not give a drop volume; at the 0.05 mL per drop stated in the Semax entry, 12 drops a day is 0.6 mL, or 900 mcg.

The trial record is Russian-language and small. PubMed's trial filter returns three Selank papers and four Semax papers (read 2026-09-18), all in the journal Zhurnal Nevrologii i Psikhiatrii imeni S.S. Korsakova and its ophthalmology neighbour: Selank against medazepam in 62 patients with generalised anxiety disorder and neurasthenia (Zozulia et al. 2008, PMID 18454096), against phenazepam in 60 patients with anxiety and somatoform disorders (Medvedev et al. 2014, PMID 25176261), and as an add-on to phenazepam in 70 (Medvedev et al. 2015, PMID 26356395); Semax in the acute period of hemispheric ischaemic stroke in 30 patients against 80 controls, where the paper names 12 mg a day for moderate strokes and 18 mg a day for severe ones over 5 and 10 days (Gusev et al. 1997, PMID 11517472), in stroke rehabilitation in 110 patients with two 10-day courses of 6,000 mcg a day (Gusev et al. 2018, PMID 29798983), in motor neuron disease (2007) and in optic-nerve disease (2000). Human-tagged records number 47 for Semax and 15 for Selank.

The combination has been given to nobody as a combination. Of the eleven PubMed records mentioning both names, the one human study scanned 52 healthy participants before and 5 and 20 minutes after an injection of Semax, Selank or placebo, each alone (Panikratova et al. 2020, PMID 32342318). A 2020 forensic paper found both in seized preparations sold online as powders and nasal sprays and states that, to its authors' knowledge, neither had completed any clinical trial (Vanhee et al., Drug Testing and Analysis 2020, PMID 31667971).

Who promotes the stack, and what they state

The first page of results for "Selank and Semax" is protocol sites, dosing-calculator sites and telehealth or clinic blogs (read 2026-09-18). The claim is "calm focus": Semax for attention, Selank for anxiety, spaced 30 to 45 minutes apart. The figures they state: 250 mcg of Selank with 300 mcg of Semax a day as the common starting pattern, 250 mcg of Selank with 400 mcg of Semax, or up to about 1,000 mcg a day combined, by nasal spray or under the skin. One protocol page states plainly that there are no published combination trials. The nasal figures sit inside the Russian instructions' ranges; the injectable figures have no human study behind them at all.

Reconstitution and the units per draw

Concentration is the milligrams in the vial divided by the millilitres of water; the draw on a U-100 syringe is the quantity in mg divided by that concentration, times 100. Selank is sold in 5 mg and 10 mg vials and Semax in 10 mg and 30 mg vials, the sizes the site's calculators carry.

The nasal products relate to the same arithmetic: 0.1% is 1 mg per mL and 0.15% is 1.5 mg per mL, so a 10 mg Semax vial in 10 mL matches the registered Semax concentration and a 5 mg Selank vial in 3.33 mL matches the registered Selank concentration, with 50 and 75 mcg in a 0.05 mL drop. That is a description of how the figures relate, not a direction. Two vials mean two draws; the blend calculator does both, and the Selank calculator and Semax calculator cover each vial at any water volume, as do the calculators for the acetylated forms, N-Acetyl Selank Amidate and NA-Semax Amidate, which are different molecules with their own labelled amounts. What the figures omit

The Russian figures omit the route the research market uses: they are nasal drops of a registered concentration, with indications, courses and a manufacturer, and they say nothing about a lyophilized vial drawn into a syringe. The trial figures omit the stack and, for Semax, belong to stroke patients on the 1% product. The circulating figures omit any human study for the injectable route and any study of the pair. Frequency and duration are therefore known for two nasal products in Russia and for nothing else.

What is known about Selank and Semax together?

Very little, and none of it from a trial of the pair. Eleven PubMed papers mention both names; the only human one gave 52 volunteers Semax, Selank or placebo separately for an imaging study. No registration on ClinicalTrials.gov administers either. The stack is a marketing construction built from two Russian nasal products with separate indications, a nootropic and an anxiolytic, and the pages promoting it state figures that no combination study has tested. That is what this page reports.

What are the Russian label doses for Semax and Selank?

How many units is 300 mcg of Semax on an insulin syringe?

At 5 mg/mL, a 10 mg vial in 2 mL, 300 mcg is 0.06 mL, which is 6 units on a U-100 syringe. At 10 mg/mL (a 30 mg vial in 3 mL, or 10 mg in 1 mL) it is 3 units; at 3.33 mg/mL (10 mg in 3 mL) it is 9 units. Three units is a small draw on a 1 mL barrel marked in 2-unit steps, which is why microgram peptides are usually worked at lower concentrations or on a half-unit 0.3 mL barrel. The site's Semax calculator returns the figure for any vial and water volume.

Is Semax or Selank approved in the United States?

No. DailyMed held no label for either on 2026-09-18, and no US trial registration administers either. Both are registered medicines in Russia, made by Peptogen, where Selank is sold without prescription. In September 2023 FDA placed both on Category 2 of its interim 503A list of bulk substances that may present significant safety risks, and Semax was scheduled for FDA's compounding advisory committee in July 2026; the current status is on FDA's own pages, which refused this site's request on the day of writing.

How is a Selank or Semax vial worked for the nasal concentration?

As arithmetic only. The Russian Semax product is a 0.1% solution, which is 1 mg per mL, and Selank is 0.15%, which is 1.5 mg per mL. A 10 mg vial dissolved in 10 mL of water gives 1 mg per mL, the same concentration as the 0.1% product; a 5 mg vial in 3.33 mL gives 1.5 mg per mL. At those concentrations one 0.05 mL drop holds 50 or 75 mcg. This describes how the numbers relate; it does not say what to do with a vial.

How many draws are in a 5 mg Selank vial?

Twenty draws of 250 mcg, or about sixteen of 300 mcg, whatever the water volume, because the water sets the concentration and not the quantity in the vial. What the water volume changes is the size of each draw: at 2.5 mg/mL a 250 mcg draw is 10 units, at 5 mg/mL it is 5 units, at 1.67 mg/mL it is 15 units. The 250 mcg figure is the one protocol pages state (read 2026-09-18); it is not a labelled dose.
