This page does the arithmetic for CJC-1295 vials: water volume per vial size, the concentration it produces, and what the trial figures and the circulating figures come to in U-100 syringe units. Every figure carries its source and the date it was read. Nothing here is a recommendation.

CJC-1295 is a synthetic analogue of growth-hormone-releasing hormone, specifically of its first 29 amino acids, GHRH(1-29). The name covers two molecules. CJC-1295 with DAC carries a "drug affinity complex", a chemical group that binds the molecule to albumin in the blood after injection and is the reason its half-life in the 2006 human trials was measured in days. What the research market sells as "CJC-1295 no DAC" is the same modified GHRH(1-29) without that complex, also sold as Mod GRF 1-29, with a half-life measured in minutes. The distinction matters for what a vial contains and for which reported figure applies to it; it does not change the reconstitution arithmetic, which depends only on the milligrams in the vial and the millilitres of water added. What the sources hold

No label: a DailyMed search on 2026-09-18 returned zero records for CJC-1295, so no regulator has reviewed a dose or a storage condition.

One registration: ClinicalTrials.gov held a single study naming CJC-1295 as an intervention on 2026-09-18, NCT00267527, a ConjuChem phase 2 study of 12 weeks' treatment in HIV-infected patients with visceral obesity, planned for 120 participants, started December 2005, listed as terminated with no results posted and no reason recorded.

Two human trials, both of the DAC form. Teichman et al. (JCEM 2006, PMID 16352683) ran two randomised placebo-controlled studies of 28 and 49 days in healthy adults aged 21 to 61: four ascending single subcutaneous doses in the first, two or three weekly or biweekly doses in the second. GH rose 2- to 10-fold for 6 days or more and IGF-I 1.5- to 3-fold for 9 to 11 days after one injection; the estimated half-life was 5.8 to 8.1 days; after multiple doses IGF-I stayed above baseline for up to 28 days; the authors describe the drug as relatively well tolerated, "particularly at doses of 30 or 60 microg/kg". Ionescu and Frohman (JCEM 2006, PMID 17018654) sampled blood every 20 minutes overnight in healthy men aged 20 to 40 before and one week after a single injection of 60 or 90 mcg/kg: pulsatility was preserved, trough GH rose 7.5-fold, mean GH 46% and IGF-I 45%, with no difference between the two doses. PubMed holds 33 title-and-abstract records for CJC-1295 on 2026-09-18; the trial filter returns those two and nothing else. Most of the rest is anti-doping analytical chemistry.

The trials stated doses per kilogram. Scaling them is arithmetic, and it shows that the trial quantities were milligrams, not the microgram figures that circulate for the no-DAC form.

Units = quantity in mg divided by mg/mL, times 100. The microgram rows are the figures protocol and vendor pages state for the no-DAC form (100 to 300 mcg per injection, read 2026-09-18); the milligram rows are those pages' DAC figures (1 to 2 mg a week) and the lowest trial dose scaled to 80 kg (2.4 mg).

The table shows why the two forms are usually worked at different concentrations. Microgram quantities occupy one or two units at 10 mg/mL, below what a 1 mL syringe's 2-unit markings resolve, and become readable draws only with more water. DAC and no-DAC: same arithmetic, different figures

Because the two molecules share a name, a unit figure quoted for one is routinely applied to the other. The tables above make the consequence visible: a 2 mg weekly quantity for the DAC form is 40 units at 5 mg/mL, while a 100 mcg quantity for the no-DAC form at the same concentration is 2 units, a twenty-fold difference in the draw from the same vial and water. Which molecule a vial holds is stated on its own label. The mixing steps, as labels describe them

No CJC-1295 label exists, so the steps come from labelled peptide products prepared the same way. The EGRIFTA WR label (tesamorelin, revised 3/2025) directs that the diluent be added to the vial and the vial moved in a circle to mix, and states: do not shake. The EGRIFTA SV label (revised 2/2024) states that the vial is mixed by rolling it gently between the hands for 30 seconds, and again: do not shake (DailyMed, read 2026-09-18). Storage after mixing

No product label states a storage condition for reconstituted CJC-1295; the EGRIFTA WR label's figure of 20 to 25 degrees Celsius for up to 7 days applies to that product alone, and Medibact's article on how to store peptides covers storage of reconstituted research vials.

What the figures omit

The trial figures omit everything a circulating figure claims to know. They were single or few doses of the DAC form in healthy adults, measured for GH and IGF-I over weeks, not months of use, not muscle or fat, and not the no-DAC form at all. The circulating figures omit their origin: the 1 to 2 mg weekly DAC figure sits below the lowest trial dose for most adults, and the 100 to 300 mcg no-DAC figure has no human study behind it. Route (subcutaneous in the trials), frequency, duration and population are therefore reported facts about two 2006 papers, not properties of the compound. How much water goes into a 5 mg CJC-1295 vial?

No label states a volume. The concentration is the vial amount divided by the water added: 1 mL gives 5 mg/mL, 2 mL gives 2.5 mg/mL and 3 mL gives 1.67 mg/mL. The water changes how many syringe units a given quantity occupies, not the quantity itself: 100 mcg is 2 units at 5 mg/mL, 4 units at 2.5 mg/mL and 6 units at 1.67 mg/mL. Is reconstitution different for CJC-1295 with DAC and without DAC?

The arithmetic is identical: concentration depends only on the milligrams in the vial and the millilitres of water added. What differs is the figure being drawn. The DAC form is the molecule in the 2006 human trials and on circulating pages carries weekly milligram figures; the no-DAC form, sold as Mod GRF 1-29, carries daily microgram figures on those same pages and has no human trial. How many units is 100 mcg of CJC-1295 on an insulin syringe?

At 5 mg/mL (a 10 mg vial in 2 mL, or a 5 mg vial in 1 mL) 100 mcg is 0.02 mL, which is 2 units on a U-100 syringe. At 2.5 mg/mL it is 4 units, at 10 mg/mL 1 unit, at 1.67 mg/mL 6 units. Two units sits at the limit of what a 1 mL syringe's 2-unit markings can show, which is why microgram quantities are usually worked at lower concentrations, where the same quantity occupies more units.

What dose of CJC-1295 was used in human trials?

Both trials used the DAC form in healthy adults. Teichman et al. (2006) gave four ascending single subcutaneous doses and then two or three weekly or biweekly doses, and reported the drug as relatively well tolerated particularly at 30 or 60 mcg/kg; Ionescu and Frohman (2006) gave a single dose of 60 or 90 mcg/kg. For a 70 kg adult those per-kilogram figures are 2.1, 4.2 and 6.3 mg. No human trial of the no-DAC form exists, and no trial measured muscle or body composition in healthy people.

Can CJC-1295 and ipamorelin be mixed in one vial?

Pre-mixed blend vials are sold, and the number on a blend vial is normally the combined mass of both peptides, often split 5 mg and 5 mg in a 10 mg vial, though the split is set by whoever filled it. A blend fixes the ratio of the two peptides at fill time: drawing more or less scales both together.
