MOTS-c is the fastest-rising dosage search among the research peptides this site covers, and it has the thinnest record behind it: no label, no published human trial, and one registration with no dose in it. What exists is an analog's four-week study, a set of animal figures in mg/kg, and a spread of vendor figures. This page reports each of those with its source and date, states what the record does not contain, and then does the one thing the record allows, which is to convert the circulating milligram figures into syringe units at the two vial sizes sold.

MOTS-c is a 16-residue peptide encoded in mitochondrial DNA, described in a 2015 Cell Metabolism paper as a regulator of metabolism in mice. Medibact's MOTS-c guide covers the biology and the evidence; this page stays with figures. The dosage hub lists every compound's page.

Only the last row contains a figure for MOTS-c in a person, and it has no source that can be opened. The analog row is the closest thing to a human dose in the record, and it belongs to a different molecule.

The registrations, read closely

The registry search is worth reporting in detail, because a reader who runs it will find a phase 2 trial and may take it as evidence of a human dose. NCT07505745 proposes 120 adults with prediabetes, a fixed daily subcutaneous dose for 12 weeks, and a placebo; the dose field is empty. Its sponsor, Hudson Biotech, holds eight registrations, all first posted between 2026-02-27 and 2026-04-01, all at one hospital in Shenzhen, covering BPC-157, TB-500, tesamorelin, melanotan II, GHK-Cu, tirzepatide and retatrutide as well as MOTS-c. One of the eight reproduces the title of Lilly's completed SURMOUNT-1 trial together with its 2,539 enrollment figure, and one is titled "Tesamorelin for Reduction of Liver Fat in Adults With Fatty Liver Disease (Mock Study)". The registry accepts what sponsors submit and states as much; the observations here are what the records say, and no more.

CB4211 is a different case. CohBar registered a real phase 1a/1b study, enrolled 88 people between 2018 and 2021, and announced a 25 mg once-daily regimen for four weeks in the 20-person 1b stage. The results were never posted to the registry and the compound's development was not continued. CB4211 was described by the company as "a novel and improved analog of MOTS-c", which is the reason its 25 mg does not become a MOTS-c figure: an analog is changed to alter its behaviour, and the change is the whole reason the number cannot be transferred.

Units per amount at each research-vial size

Research-market MOTS-c is supplied in 5 mg and 10 mg vials. The table takes each at 1, 2 and 3 mL of water, states the concentration, and converts the circulating 2.5, 5 and 10 mg figures into U-100 syringe units (100 units = 1 mL). A cell over 100 units does not fit one syringe.

The table's shape is the opposite of the microgram peptides. Because the circulating figures are whole milligrams, the more water is added the sooner a single amount outgrows the syringe: at 3 mL in a 5 mg vial even 2.5 mg needs two draws. A 10 mg figure fits one syringe only at 10 mg/mL, which is the whole of a 10 mg vial in 1 mL. What the figures omit

The animal figures come with a species, a route and a duration that do not carry over; neither weight-based nor surface-area scaling has been validated for this peptide. The analog figure comes with a different molecule, a four-week duration and a fatty-liver population. The vendor figures come with nothing. The one thing every source agrees on is what is absent: no human pharmacokinetics for MOTS-c, no dose-response in people, no published safety observation in people, and no label. The FDA's July 2026 committee vote concerned whether pharmacies may compound the substance; it did not establish a dose and it did not approve anything.

This page reports what DailyMed, ClinicalTrials.gov, PubMed, one company release, one trade-press report and the public web state about MOTS-c dosing, each dated, and converts the circulating milligram figures into syringe units for two vial sizes. It does not recommend an amount, an interval or a schedule, and it does not present the analog's or the animals' figures as a human dose. Where the record is empty, the page says so and stops.

Frequently asked questions

What is the MOTS-c dosage per day?

No source states one. There is no label, no published human trial of MOTS-c, and the one registration that administers it (NCT07505745, first posted 2026-04-01) gives no milligram figure. The figures that circulate on vendor and forum pages, read on 2026-09-18, are 2.5 to 10 mg per injection, usually two or three times a week rather than daily. This page reports that absence rather than filling it; a per-day figure quoted anywhere has been invented or extrapolated.

Is there a MOTS-c dosage chart?

Not one with a source behind it. The only human figure in the record is 25 mg once daily for four weeks, and it belongs to CB4211, a modified analog tested by CohBar in 20 people in 2021, not to MOTS-c. The animal figures, 5 to 15 mg/kg in mice and rats, do not convert to a human chart. The table on this page is arithmetic: it shows what the circulating 2.5, 5 and 10 mg figures are in syringe units at each vial size, and nothing more.

How many units is 5 mg of MOTS-c?

At 5 mg/mL, which a 5 mg vial reaches with 1 mL of water, 5 mg is the whole vial and 100 units, a full U-100 syringe. At 10 mg/mL (a 10 mg vial with 1 mL) it is 50 units. At 2.5 mg/mL it is 200 units, which no single syringe holds, so the more dilute rows in the table are impractical for milligram amounts. MOTS-c is the compound on this site where over-dilution, not under-dilution, is the arithmetic trap.

Has MOTS-c been tested in humans?

Not in any published study found on 2026-09-18. Observational studies have measured MOTS-c levels in blood, in exercise, diabetes and transplant research. The only human administration of a related molecule is CB4211, CohBar's analog, in an 88-person phase 1a/1b study from 2018 to 2021 whose results were never posted to the registry. One 2026 registration proposes to give MOTS-c itself to 120 people; it states no dose and belongs to a sponsor whose other listings include a 'Mock Study'.

What is the FDA's position on MOTS-c?

MOTS-c has never been approved. The FDA put it in Category 2 of its interim 503A bulk-substance list on 2023-09-29, which barred compounding pharmacies from using it. In April 2026 the agency signalled it would remove a group of peptides from that category, and on 2026-07-23 its Pharmacy Compounding Advisory Committee voted 7 to 5, with two abstentions, in favour of MOTS-c, as PharmExec reported the next day. A committee vote is advisory; rulemaking follows.

What do the animal studies use?

The abstracts read on 2026-09-18 state 15 mg/kg per day by injection in mice (Kumagai 2024) and 5 mg/kg in a rat model (Chen 2026); the 2015 paper that named the peptide reports mouse work without a dose in its abstract. A mouse figure scaled by body weight gives numbers far above anything vendors cite, and scaling it by body surface area gives different numbers again. Neither method has been validated for this peptide, which is why no animal figure appears in the units table.
